Kick Climate Change Competition

While we wait for the Government to introduce a carbon tax, taking personal responsibility on Climate Change is easy with a new simple equation: Action on climate change = reduce your emissions + purchase offsets. Climate Friendly and The Body Shop have come together, encouraging Australians to make a pledge to apply this equation to their daily lives.

The Body Shop has a long history in environmentally responsible retailing, and strongly believes Australian businesses do have an ethical responsibility to protect the environment in which they operate, both locally and globally.

“We have taken significant steps towards being carbon managed, and since 2007 have reduced our CO2-e emissions by 12%, and now offset all carbon emissions from electricity, LPG gas, company cars and air travel. We encourage other businesses, and our staff and customers to follow the Climate Friendly formula too,” says Mark Kindness, CE The Body Shop.

To take action on climate change now, we suggest customers turn appliances off at the wall, walk or cycle instead of using the car and use lower energy light bulbs. Residents can then measure and offset their carbon footprint using Climate Friendly’s high-quality carbon offsets. Each carbon offset purchased prevents one tonne of carbon pollution from entering the atmosphere.

Visit www.climatefriendly.com/tbs or any The Body Shop store in Australia* and make a pledge to reduce your carbon emissions today. The person who pledges the most significant reduction will win their CO2-e emissions offset for a year PLUS a year’s supply of The Body Shop’s eco-conscious haircare and shower gel products.
