I visited Borneo in August, 07 and it was quite alarming to see the devastation of the rainforests to plant palm plantations. If things continue the way they are there will not be any rainforest left. <BR/><BR/>We also visited the orangutan sanctuary at Sepilok and saw many orangutans who have been chased out of their native rainforest as they have been cleared for palm plantations. We have sponsored a baby orangutan who was orphaned after his mother was shot and killed in a plantation.
